nFront Security / Passfilt PRO FAQ

nFront Security is a division of Altus Network Solutions, Inc. Altus Network Solutions, Inc. was not acquired by another company. Until recently, Altus Network Solutions, Inc. was a consulting company that happened to produce software. With nFront Security we are now a software company that happens to provide consulting services.

The name was changed for several reasons, the primary of which was marketing. The new name should prove easy to remember and since the website URL matches the name it will be easier to find online.

In the next few years we plan to release 1 to 3 new products each year and all new products will fall under the nFront branding.

Most changes were for the front-end only. All registry settings and configuration

YES. The Passfilt Pro / nFront Password Filter has always allowed mixing versions during an upgrade / migration process. There have been no changes with registry locations so the password filtering engine will read the old configuration and filter accordingly.

The documentation covers the upgrade process in detail. However, here is the basic plan:

• If you are running Passfilt Pro 3.5x or later you do not need to reboot.
• Uninstall Passfilt Pro.  Do not reboot.
• Install the latest nFront Password Filter. Do not reboot.
• Optionally replace the GPO templates with the latest nFront Password Filter template. The new template will likely expose a few new options.

NO. You do not need to go through any accounting headaches! Until we upgrade our office space, our mailing address and phone numbers will remain the same. In the future you will receive maintenance billing statements with both company names (i.e. Altus Network Solutions, Inc. d/b/a nFront Security).
